The Croatian legal framework in this area are Nature Protection Law (OG 80/13) and Ordinance on the assessment of eligibility for the ecological network (NATURA 2000) (OG 146/14).
VITA PROJEKT Ltd. is a legal entity registered for the following professional tasks of nature protection:
- Development of chapters and studies to evaluate the acceptability of strategies, plans, programs or interventions for the ecological network (NATURA 2000)
In addition to expert activities regulated with legislations, we also offer consulting and planning services during the development of project documentation for the investments that are located on Natura 2000 sites and investments that could have negative impact on the surrounding NATURA 2000.
In such cases, we advise the implementation of NATURA 2000 mitigation measures as a special project book - a report which an integral part of the project documentation. Considering the complexity and longlasting of procedures for assessment of acceptability for the NATURA 2000 network, obtaining the consent from the competent authority for nature protection already in the previous assessment may be crucial for the successful implementation of the investment plan.
